About

The provision of open data is supported by national and international policies. The promotion of Open Data is a key pillar of Europe's Digital Agenda for 2020.
The free provision of data mobilises public officials, organisations and businesses to utilise it. It started as European-Greek Legislation and actually creates the key infrastructures and opportunities for digital transformation and innovation actions in the public and private sector.
In this context, the pilot version of the HEDNO open data portal platform will support the collaboration with dynamic innovation ecosystems of our country, the promotion of research aimed at tackling significant issues, as well as a comprehensive open data strategy with short and long term benefits.
In particular, the proposed open data platform for HEDNO is implemented in a broader business environment with the following features:
• Possibility of creating applications, systems, studies, methodologies in collaboration with wider communities (e.g. Academia, startups, individual developers)
• Development of an ecosystem around data and APIs. Generation of knowledge and good practices.
• Use of the platform as a technology tool and infrastructure for innovation actions supported or held by HEDNO, such as hackathons for the sectors of Environment and Energy, networking actions, switch on innovation program etc.
• Provision of anonymised data of HEDNO as well as data of third parties and organisations.
Indicative fields of use:
• Innovation competitions and thematic challenges.
• Teams participating in the switch on Innovation Accelerator.
• Intra-company development actions.
• Communication with similar ecosystems and the society.
• Technology support for bootcamps, hackathons, online thematic competitions for the generation of ideas and applications, student workshops.
• Utilisation of data during hackathons held by Ministries, Public or Private Sector bodies.
The platform is running on a pilot version developed by the innovation and technology company Crowdpolicy.
